During Jakarta Fashion Week, I received an invitation to attend MAJOR MINOR show, presented by TOP WHITE COFFEE on the sixth day of JFW. Got the ticket from winning an OOTD competition held by them in collaboration with OOTD INDO on Instagram.
Ari and Sari Seputra are the couple who have been the pioneers behind Major Minor. Launched in 2011, the brand is dynamic with a quirky touch. Clean cut clothes in interesting color schemes with affordable prices have been the trademark of the brand.
The theme of the recent collection for JFW was “Color Deconstructed”. Major Minor brought us a Ready to Wear collection consisting of more than 20 looks. Highlighting stripes and fringes, most of the designs had at least both of these elements. Stripes were implemented in different kind of ways. Fabric patterns, pleats, patches treatments, fringes, and fabric placements to create stripes effect. Paying attention to the details, they designed each look with interesting techniques.
Major colors spotted on the runway were white, black, yellow, orange and tones of blue. Some pieces screamed for attention in orange and yellow colors. I love their colorful fringes treatment that whipped back and forth, side to side when the models strutted on the runway. Almost all of the looks were designed to look flowy so it gives dramatic effects during movement.
